Žirafa
Great illustrations of our favorites, their everyday lives, true stories in which some words are replaced with pictures.
The giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis) is the tallest land animal in the world, with a long neck and legs and a distinctive spotted coat that helps it camouflage itself among the branches of trees. An adult giraffe can reach over 5.5 meters in height, and males are usually taller and heavier than females. They live in African savannas and open forests, feeding mainly on leaves, buds and young shoots of acacia trees, which they can reach thanks to their long neck and tongue, which is up to 45 cm long. Giraffes have a peaceful nature, but males are known to fight each other by necking for dominance and the right to mate. Lions and hyenas can be predators, especially cubs, but adult giraffes defend themselves with powerful kicks. Despite their size, their populations are declining due to habitat loss and poaching.
