Babogredska kompanija
This book is part of the series "Slavonica - contributions of Slavonia to Croatian literature and history".
This book explores the history of the Babogred Company, which was the basic territorial-administrative unit of the border area with the Turkish Empire. The Babogred company was located 50 km east of Slavonski Brod and covered an extensive area. In the 18th and 19th centuries, forests were a key resource in this area, and wood was the most available material for various purposes. Houses and almost everything in them, as well as tools for working in the field, were made of wood. Therefore, it is understandable that the people of Krajina were aware of forests as a common good of the community, and they also believed in some imaginary "old rights" that justified the free exploitation of Krajina forests.
