A collection of children's poetry published in 1973 (first edition, later 1975, 1977, 1980, 1982). Stanislav Femenić, a Croatian poet, storyteller and physician (1924–2012), dedicated most of his work to children and young people.
He was left alone in the world when playful hunters, hunting pheasants, shot from a double barrel and hit his parents, who were forced by the dogs to fly from the bushes where they were pecking at snails.
The lullabies in this selection were created following records from the past to the present day, collected and stored at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies in Zagreb.
