Ilustrirana povijest svijeta - Od prahistorijskog doba do danas
It is the desire of the publishers to provide you with the pleasure of searching and discovering, constant progress in establishing and expanding the historical picture of the world - and both can be achieved by reading this book.
What was happening in America while the seven-year war was going on in Europe? Were the Arabs already expelled from Spain when Columbus discovered America? Such questions can be answered quickly and reliably if you only glance at the historical tables in the work before you. In these tables, the most important events of the historical course are listed and therefore in the closest spatial neighborhood you can find what happened at approximately the same time, although continents and oceans separate the places where the events took place.
The colorful pictures that frame the tables are much more than just a decoration or a bright addition. Their sequence is a specially selected sequence of the most striking events in the course of world history. This comparability of images, otherwise connected in the image, will prove to be an effective support for memory. Thus, for example, one glance at page 76 shows that the Hanseatic League reached its peak at the time of the Virgin of Orleans, that Jan Hus lived in Bohemia at that time and that the Renaissance began to be prepared. After the name in the text, there are often numbers with brackets. For rulers, they mean the time of reign, and for all other personalities, the year of birth and death.
A double sheet of tables is always followed by two pages of image documents. These pictures show excavations and findings, historically significant buildings, works of art, etc. They bring to life the image of past events, customs and people's lives.
At the end of the book you will find an alphabetical index that will save you a long search.
