Slađe od čokolade

Dražena Pušetić

A small group of urban "girls" in their forties and everything that goes with it: the monotony of marriage, the challenges of adultery, the search for unfulfilled standards in the realms of the emotional, spiritual, and material.

In short, a perfect picture of a modern middle-class woman and her reality, with which every woman can identify. It is not gratifying to compare, but Dražena wrote her first novel in a better style and more entertaining than many better-known authors in domestic contemporary prose. I especially liked her list of ten types of male ego. It is not only funny but also painfully true. Let there be no confusion, this is a women's novel, but not a feminist one. Dražena mocks in places, but does not dismantle the male-female relationship. She builds it with the most subtle emotions, because she is aware of love and its immeasurable energy. It doesn't matter that it is sometimes pathetic, but, tell me, how can you not love this quote: "If I were born a million more times, if I lived another hundred years, I would not change anything in my life. I would never let you go..." Yes, the author brings her novel to an end by forcing the main character to fall in love. And here the adventure seems not to end, but only to begin. Because we learned in Greek mythology that even the gods are not smart when they kiss.
