Biblijski leksikon

Biblijski leksikon

A lexicon of biblical terms and realia created by German experts. The purpose of the Lexicon is to show and clarify the diversity of biblical concepts. For this reason, the reader will find a suitable explanation for many names.

The lexicon explains biblical terminology and realities alphabetically, with short, clear articles on thousands of terms. It covers figures such as Abraham (father of the people, test of faith in Isaiah 22), David (king, psalmist, sinner and savior), or John the Baptist (prophet, baptizer of Jesus in Matthew 3). Terms include "Alpha and Omega" - the Greek letters designating God as the beginning and end of the world (Rev 1:8; 21:6).

Places (e.g. Jerusalem as a holy city), events (the Flood, the resurrection of Jesus), symbols (the cross, the lamb) and theological terms (salvation, sin) are given contextual interpretations with biblical quotations. The purpose is to clarify the diversity of biblical elements, helping readers see the connections between the Old and New Testaments. There are no deep discussions, but concise explanations for quick understanding - from laymen to clergy.
