The collection "Renaissance and renaissance in the art of Croatia" is the second book in which presentations held at scientific gatherings dedicated to the memory of Cvit Fisković are published.

This volume contains the largest part of the presentations held at the VII. in the days of Cvit Fisković in 2003 (Orebić–Korčula–Trogir–Šibenik), where they tried to shed light on the problems of the "classical" Renaissance of the 15th and 16th centuries and those earlier medieval "renaissances". The breadth and complexity of the various topics and research problems that were open, or were just emerging, imposed the need for a continuation of the symposium. Within this framework, an effort was made to put a bit more emphasis on the later revival periods of the new century, including the 19th century.
