Dixie Chicks

The sixth studio album by the Dixie Chicks from 2002. An acclaimed country and bluegrass effort with an acoustic sound and award-winning hits like "Long Time Gone" and "Travelin' Soldier".

The sixth studio album by the Dixie Chicks (now known as The Chicks), Home, released in 2002 by Open Wide Records and Monument Records/Columbia Records, is one of the most important and award-winning releases in the history of contemporary country music. Unlike previous pop-country releases, Home brings a return to the roots with a focus on traditional bluegrass and acoustic country sounds, enriched by masterful playing of banjo, violin, mandolin and acoustic guitar.

The album stands out for its exceptionally rich vocal harmonies and emotional depth. It was celebrated by such indispensable singles as the energetic "Long Time Gone", the poignant war ballad "Travelin' Soldier", the touching "Godspeed (Sweet Dreams)" and the excellent instrumental "Lil' Jack Jackson". An important part of the album is also the acclaimed cover of the Fleetwood Mac classic "Landslide", which achieved enormous radio and commercial success.

The album Home won several Grammy Awards and is considered a masterpiece of the acoustic and Americana scene. This CD release is a must-have for all lovers of authentic country, bluegrass and top-quality organ music.
