Heinz G. Konsalik

Hajnc Ginter Konsalik, pravo ime Hajnc Ginter, bio je nemački pisac rođen 1921. u Kelnu, a umro je 1999. u Salcburgu. Studirao je pozorište, književnu istoriju i germanistiku u Kelnu, Minhenu i Beču, a iskustvo Drugog svetskog rata, u kojem je teško ranjen na Istočnom frontu, snažno je obeležilo i njegov život i književni rad. Smatra se jednim od najčitanijih i komercijalno najuspešnijih nemačkih autora posleratne Nemačke, sa više od 150 romana i desetinama miliona prodatih primeraka.

Pisao je popularne ratne, ljubavne, avanturističke i medicinske romane, često smeštene na dramatične istorijske ili egzotične lokacije. Njegovo najpoznatije delo je Doktor iz Staljingrada (Der Arzt von Stalingrad), a naslovi prevedeni na hrvatski jezik uključuju Doktor iz Sartena (Der Arzt von Sartene), Zvezda Afrike (Der Stern von Afrika), Ćilibarna soba (Das Bernsteinzimmer) i Pista (Die Rollbahn). Iako ga književni kritičari nisu uvek visoko cenili, Konsalik je stekao veliku čitalačku publiku zahvaljujući svojoj napetoj radnji, emotivnosti i pristupačnom stilu.
