Sanja Pilić

Sanja Pilić's book is a humorous and touching novel for young adults that follows the life of 13-year-old Marko, a boy facing the challenges of puberty. The novel brings an authentic portrayal of teenage problems, emotions, and maturation through Marko's

Marko is an ordinary boy who struggles with typical adolescent dilemmas: school, friendships, first loves and conflicts with his parents. He is in love with his schoolmate Ana, but his clumsiness and insecurity often lead him into funny situations. In addition, he faces peer pressure, misunderstandings with teachers and family expectations. His parents, especially his mother, often do not understand him, which further complicates his world.

Through diary entries, Marko humorously describes his experiences, from awkward moments at school to attempts to impress Ana. His best friend, called "Kum", is always by his side, providing support but also an extra dose of laughter. The novel explores themes of self-confidence, self-acceptance and the importance of honesty. Sanja Pilić uses lively language and humor to bring the inner world of teenagers closer to readers, making Marko a character who is easy to identify with.

In the end, Marko slowly learns to cope with changes, accepting that puberty is a chaotic but also fun part of growing up. The book ends on an optimistic note, celebrating small victories in maturing.
