Sabrana djela XII: Ex Ponto, Nemiri, lirika
Andrić's early works, prose poems, poetic notes and lyrics were published in this volume. Each of these titles has a specific theme and style that reflects Andrić's inner state and philosophical reflections.
"Ex Ponto" was greeted with attention and understanding by the literary critics, marking the work as an "unusual book" in which "the poet talks to his soul". Written in rhythmic prose, these lyrical notes from exile were an expression of the deep disappointment of a young man who, at the end of World War II, asked himself the question of the meaning of his own existence. But the author's desire for self-denial soon turned into a determined creative attitude: to shut himself up and preserve in his work only "understanding and compassion for all human misery". After "Ex Ponto", he announced himself as a lyricist once again, in "Nemirim" (1920), but in them the lyrical expression had already begun to be suppressed by the narration.
