Mostovi u okrugu Madison

Robert James Waller

The book is a best-selling 1992 romance novel by American author Robert James Waller about an Italian-American World War II war bride living on a farm in Madison County, Iowa in the 1960s.

Robert Kincaid, a freelance photographer, drives his pickup truck through the roads of Iowa in the hot summer of 1965 in search of eight covered bridges to photograph for National Geographic magazine. Unable to find the last one, he turns to a woman he notices on the porch of a house for help. It was Francesca Johnson. During that brief encounter, they both felt an unusual attraction that brought unrest to their minds... This touching love story, published this time in the Večernjak Library, was also adapted to the big screen in 1995, with Clint Eastwood (also the director) and Meryl Streep in the lead roles.
