Rock' n stock generacija
A provocative and authentic collection of verses and writings that uncompromisingly portrays the spirit of a generation, urban turmoil, rock subculture, as well as the author’s inner unrest and emotions.
Rock'n Stock generacija is a collection of literary works and verses by the Rijeka-based artist, poet, and media personality Marija Štrajh. Known for her sharp tongue, expressive delivery, and rejection of social conventions, the author offers an authentic and uncompromising glimpse into her own inner world and the city’s subcultural scene. Through poems and short prose pieces, Štrajh explores themes of emotion, freedom, rebellion, and passion, while also shedding light on the darker side of urban life. The book’s title clearly alludes to a rock aesthetic and a generational spirit, capturing the atmosphere of the alternative scene in Rijeka and Croatia at large. The author’s style is direct, rhythmic, and infused with raw energy—devoid of unnecessary embellishments or false morality. This collection functions not only as a personal diary and a poetic manifesto but also as a portrait of an era and a generation searching for its identity at the intersection of rock idealism, social critique, and personal introspection. Rock'n Stock generacija serves as a compelling testament to the Croatian alternative literary and cultural scene.
