Knjiga Istra i njeni razvojni putevi iz 1973. godine, koju su priredili Juraj Pađen i Stanko Žuljić, predstavlja sveobuhvatnu analizu ekonomskog i društvenog razvoja Istre u kontekstu tadašnje Jugoslavije.

Ova publikacija od 273 stranice, koju je objavio Ekonomski institut u Zagrebu, pokriva teme kao što su industrijalizacija, urbanizacija, agrarna politika i demografske promene na Istarskom poluostrvu. Poseban naglasak je stavljen na neravnomerni razvoj između priobalnog i unutrašnjeg dela Istre, pri čemu urbani centri poput Pule i Rijeke doživljavaju brži rast u poređenju sa ruralnim područjima.
