Treći čovjek

Treći čovjek

Graham Greene

The plot begins when Calloway discovers that his friend was killed in a car accident under suspicious circumstances before his arrival.

The Third Man is a 1949 English film noir and novel by Graham Greene. When he was asked to write the screenplay for a film by Carol Reed that would deal with the situation in Vienna after World War II, Greene decided to write the novel first in order to later extract material for the screenplay from it. Although the novel was only intended to serve to develop the atmosphere of the story and the characters' personalities, and was not intended for the public, it was nevertheless published in 1950. The story is narrated by an English policeman, Rollo Calloway, who comes to post-war Vienna at the invitation of his friend Harry Lime, who offers him a job there.
