Priča počinje kada je nepoznati muškarac pronađen teško ranjen na obali Sredozemnog mora. Nakon što se probudi, čovek otkriva da pati od amnezije – ne zna ko je ni odakle je došao. Jedini tragovi za njegov identitet su ugrađeni broj računa u švajcarskoj banci i brojne neobične veštine kao što su borilačke sposobnosti i poznavanje stranih jezika.

Ovaj čovek uzima ime Džejson Born i kreće na opasno putovanje da otkrije svoj pravi identitet. U tom procesu suočava se sa pretnjama raznih međunarodnih organizacija i tajnih agenata. Born otkriva da je povezan sa tajnim vladinim programom zvanim Treadstone i da ga proganja moćni međunarodni ubica Karlos.
