Ubojstva po abecedi

Ubojstva po abecedi

Agatha Christie

A serial killer sends Poirot a telegram announcing a murder. The killer signs himself A.B.C.

Poirot and Hastings (who has returned from vacation) go to Japp and show him the letter. The murder really happened. The victim is Alice Ascher from Andover. Poirot receives a second letter that tells of another murder under the letter B. It is Betty Barnard from Bexhill. The third victim with the letter C is Sir Carmichael Clarke from Churston. The only thing that connects the murders is the ABC Railway Guide. Poirot concludes that the murderer knew all the people. After that, Alexander Bonaparte Cust surrenders to the police. The case is closed, but Poirot is not satisfied because Cust, under duress of evidence against him, claims that he committed the murders, but is not sure that he remembers what he did...
