In the tense finale of the dystopian trilogy, the main character Lena Haloway, after fleeing to the Wild, becomes a fiery member of the resistance movement. The spark of rebellion that was already visible in Pandemonium, now in Requiem ignites into a general revolution, at the center of which Lena is. Having saved Julian from the death penalty, Lena and her friends flee to the Wild. But the Wild is no longer a safe haven. Hotbeds of rebellion are springing up all over the country, and the authorities can no longer deny the existence of the Invalids. With the aim of exterminating all the rebels, the Regulators infiltrate the borderlands. While Lena travels to increasingly dangerous areas of the Wild, her best friend Hana lives in the safety of Portland, a loveless life, as the fiancée of the young mayor. Requiem is a story told from both points of view, told simultaneously by Lena and Hana, who live parallel lives in a world that separates them until their final meeting.
