Proljeće: glazba za mladež god. III, sv. 1
Proljeće: glazba za mladež was a musical and pedagogical magazine for children and youth that acted as the official publication of the Ustaša Mladeža during the NDH, publishing sheet music, songs and educational content.
Proljeće: glazba za mladež, edited by Slavko Modrijan, was a music magazine for children and youth that was published from 1939 to 1945. It was created as a music-pedagogical publication intended for schools, children's choirs and young musicians, and contained musical notations, songs, articles on music theory, music history, conducting and music education. During its publication, it published more than six hundred compositions for children and youth.
Volume III, volume I (1941–1942) was created during the Independent State of Croatia, when Proljeće became the official journal of the Ustaše youth. In addition to educational and musical content, the magazine was integrated into the youth education system implemented by the NDH regime, which is why part of the published repertoire had an ideological and propaganda function.
At the same time, the magazine retained an important role in the development of children's choral singing and music education, and brought together numerous prominent Croatian composers, musicologists, and music pedagogues. Today, it represents a valuable source for research into music pedagogy, children's musical culture, and cultural policy in Croatia during World War II.
