After concluding the adventure of the lake people, Zagor and Chico join a search for a missing scientist in a remote swamp concealing sinister secrets.
Zeleni rubac links the conclusion of a fantasy adventure with the opening of a new horror storyline. Its first section resolves the conflict involving the mysterious lake people, begun in Tajanstveni izvor. Moreno Burattini and Alessandro Chiarolla complete that adventure before Alessandro Russo and Gallieno Ferri introduce a different setting and mystery.
The new story begins at Muddy Waters, a small river port bordering a vast, largely unexplored swamp. There, Zagor and Chico meet Dorothy Sanders, who is trying to discover what happened to her brother Leonard, an assistant to a distinguished scientist. They join her expedition without knowing what dangers await at its destination.
The journey develops an atmosphere of science-fiction horror, combining an isolated landscape with uncertainty about Leonard’s fate. The swamp provides a threatening environment where natural hazards and the consequences of human activity become increasingly difficult to distinguish.
Ferri’s woodland, water and shadow-filled scenes reinforce the sense of isolation. This issue bridges two storylines: the earlier adventure begins in Ludens #130, while the new search continues and concludes in #133, Strava u tami.
