Zagor LU #77: Indijanska krv
Zagor and Chico pursue the kidnappers of Zanya, a Cheyenne chief’s daughter. With her sacrifice to the Morning Star approaching, the rescue becomes a race against time.
Indijanska krv opens an adventure in which Zagor and Chico seek to rescue Zanya, a Cheyenne chief’s daughter, from the Skidi. She faces sacrifice to the Morning Star. The pursuit therefore has an immediate purpose and danger: saving a captive before the ritual takes place.
Moreno Burattini builds his Western around the conflict between protecting human life and a custom used to justify violence. Zagor confronts opponents convinced of their right to act, giving the rescue a significance beyond defeating kidnappers. The story raises questions about the boundary between respecting a community and opposing its brutal practices.
Gallieno Ferri illustrates the title adventure, combining pursuit, tense encounters and action. The captive’s predicament sets the pace, while Zagor’s willingness to intervene preserves a familiar moral principle of the series: solidarity with those in danger matters more than allegiance to any particular people.
The opening section concludes an earlier adventure by Alessandro Russo and Michele Pepe, continued from Dan otkupa. The title story reaches its resolution in Zatrovani tomahavk. Readers should therefore combine regular Ludens issues 77 and 78 for the complete rescue adventure.
