Sonny Lofthus has been in prison for almost half of his life. He is a heavy heroin addict and does not seem to have a bright future ahead of him.
However, he is quite popular among the other prisoners; partly because of his charisma, partly because he always manages to get a new supply of drugs. Nobody really cares if Sonny is guilty of what he's being accused of. He became an addict after his father killed himself, and because of the accusations of a corrupt police officer. But now it seems that Sonny himself has found himself entangled in the web of a corrupt system - from prison guards, to the police, to lawyers. It is good for everyone that he is behind bars. However, when Sonny learns the truth about his father's death, he devises a brilliant strategy to escape from prison, more determined than ever to get revenge on everyone who has kept him locked up for years. At the same time, Sonny becomes both the hunter and the hunted...
