Zagor LU #255: Cangaceirosi udaraju

Cangaceirosi udaraju concludes the adventure begun in Sertao. In Brazil’s dry interior, Zagor and his companions are caught between soldiers and outlaw bands, in a region where law, violence and resistance to injustice overlap.

Zagor and Lobo must find the kidnapped Kismeth. Ambushes, shifting allegiances and a powerful enemy threaten their efforts. Every attempt at rescue creates further danger, making trust as essential as courage.

Boselli combines a rescue adventure with a story of repression and resistance. The cangaceiros are more than colourful bandits: their relationship with the authorities and local people raises questions about who delivers justice and who merely invokes it. Zagor must judge actions rather than uniforms or affiliations.

Paolo Bisi’s artwork emphasises the rough landscape, dense scrub and sudden clashes. Restricted visibility and the constant possibility of betrayal sustain the suspense, giving the action a persistent sense of uncertainty.

This issue provides the conclusion to Ludens #254–255, a self-contained adventure in the Brazilian sertão that follows the events in Bahia and continues Zagor’s South American journey.
