Zagor LU #186: Ratnici noći
Zagor investigates Elias Van Dergaard’s deadly fighting shows, whose unbeaten champion Shamrock wears a stolen talisman believed to grant extraordinary power.
Ratnici noći takes Zagor into the world of travelling fighting shows, where human lives become commodities. Elias Van Dergaard recruits desperate men and turns their hardship into a bloody spectacle without rules.
His greatest attraction is Shamrock, a giant fighter nobody has defeated. The champion wears a talisman stolen from a murdered shaman, and the search for it brings Zagor together with a young warrior determined to recover it.
Diego Cajelli constructs a western about exploiting desperation and profiting from violence. Behind the attraction of the arena lies a system offering vulnerable men a dangerous chance of success. Zagor must confront not only physical strength but also the organiser who makes a business from other people’s suffering.
The talisman adds an element of mystery. Does Shamrock’s dominance have a supernatural origin, or is there another explanation for his unbeaten record? Mauro Laurenti’s artwork emphasises physical power, movement and the threat of close combat.
This is the opening half of the two-part storyline spanning Ludens #186–187, concluded in Tajna talismana. It is also part of Cajelli’s debut story for the regular Zagor series.
