The book is a collection of selected poems that represents a cross-section of the rich poetic oeuvre of this contemporary Croatian writer.
The poems in the collection are characterized by a balance of emotions and spirituality, with an emphasis on themes of love, homeland, childhood, nature and existential questions. Ljerka Car Matutinović combines traditional and modern elements, creating verses rich in symbolism, rhythm and a sense of language. Her connection with her native Crikvenica is particularly noteworthy, whose Chakavian idiom permeates some poems, such as the cycle "Litrati". The collection reflects her ability to find universal truths in everyday motifs, with a strong vitality and joy of creation.
