Zagor LU #366: Yellow Rocks
Zagor’s pursuit of Jenny’s kidnappers reaches its conclusion at Yellow Rocks, where the rescue becomes inseparable from his growing feelings for her.
Yellow Rocks concludes the search for Jenny, the young woman from Pleasant Point whose abduction was intended to draw Zagor away from Darkwood. A criminal scheme becomes a deeply personal challenge for the Spirit with the Hatchet, as his attachment to Jenny develops beyond friendship.
Jenny is more than someone awaiting rescue. Her independence, resourcefulness and ability to resist danger give her an active place in the adventure. The growing bond between the two characters makes the pursuit more emotionally charged than a straightforward confrontation with kidnappers.
Moreno Burattini explores the tension between a wandering hero’s duties and the possibility of personal happiness. Zagor’s instinct to protect others is inseparable from feelings that make this mission unusually intimate. Anna Lazzarini’s artwork follows both the action and the emotional exchanges, allowing expressions and silent moments to carry part of the story.
Concluding the events of Una ragazza in pericolo, this instalment marks an important stage in Zagor and Jenny’s relationship. The latter portion of the issue also opens a new adventure by Jacopo Rauch and Luigi Coppola, making the volume both an ending and a beginning.
