Aspernovi spisi

Aspernovi spisi

Henry James

...Basically, this novel should be understood as a moral allegory. Its content is simple. The unnamed narrator (the novel is written in the first person), who is a critic and publisher by profession, sets himself the task of obtaining the unpublished writings of the great poet Jeffrey Aspern, which is owned by Aspern's former great love, Miss Bordereau. With this intention, he comes to Venice and rents an apartment with her and gets close to Tina, Miss Bordereau's niece, in order to get to the files more easily.
