Zagor LU #161: Piramida krvi

Piramida krvi concludes the adventure that takes Zagor and Chico from New Orleans to a hidden city in Yucatán. Their search for Jean Lafitte draws them into a society where religious authority and political ambition reinforce one another.

The ruler of New Tenochtitlan seeks to restore the Aztec empire, while Zagor’s attempt to free the prisoners leads to further danger. Meanwhile, Richter pursues a separate objective: an artefact connected with Atlantis.

Burattini brings together a rescue mission, a struggle for power and the pursuit of ancient knowledge. The hidden city becomes a meeting point for competing interests, with the past serving as an instrument of authority. Against these ambitions stands Zagor’s determination to protect those in danger.

Ferri’s artwork emphasises the imposing setting and the tension of captivity. This issue completes the five-part storyline beginning with Podzemlje New Orleansa (Ludens #157), making it a useful addition for readers assembling the complete adventure.
