Hronika izgubljenog grada

Hronika izgubljenog grada

Momo Kapor

This is one of Kapor's most significant books: it tells of the pain and bitterness of loss. The Chronicle is, indeed, Kapor's testament book, in which he put, if not his "whole life", and that is his good piece.

The chronicle of the lost city of the Belgrade writer Moma Kapor is a great farewell to Sarajevo - the author's hometown. In the long night prayer in the Church of the Presentation of the Virgin in Hilandar, the disappeared characters of this city, its forever lost parts, destinies and smells emerge; the entire history of long decay and erasure of historical memory. To end all this with a great exodus of one hundred and fifty thousand Sarajevo Serbs from the city that was taken from them. This autobiographical work by Moma Kapor is a kind of guide through Sarajevo, which is no longer there.
