Kartografija ljubavi

Kartografija ljubavi

Helena Sablić Tomić

"Traveling, for years I have casually searched, discovered, leisured, enjoyed, and played with words in many spaces, saying or not saying what I was thinking, when my eyes open wide and a pleasant warmth runs through my body."

I have often thought about these moments and these places, not knowing how to tie them into a story. The idea of writing about them from the positions I know best, as a reader and as a traveler, came to me. Reading and traveling hide within themselves what I love – the challenge of discovering something new. Writers from the Danube countries of Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine and Moldova are gathered around a universal category, emotion, and the course of the Danube has determined which figures of love discourse can be recognized in one of its five forms, from source to mouth. They are bound together by the music of Franz Liszt. The intention of this intimate essayistic playfulness was to find a cultural map of love on which readers will wander, wander, get lost and recognize themselves in it.
