Obračun s dr. Dongom
The motif that Nesvadba has already used in a science fiction context, the FALSIFICATION OF AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL FIND, in "The Showdown with Doctor Dong" serves as a starting point for questioning the RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN REVOLUTION AND SCIENTIFIC TRUTH.
The protagonist exposes the "benevolent falsification" of Dr. Dong carried out on the troubled border between North and South Vietnam, but in doing so he himself becomes entangled in the falsification of the results of the "fraternal aid" that his Institute of Tropical Diseases provides to North Vietnam. The work is characterized by a criminalistic tone, but the relationship between scientific truth and the broader social context it deals with, as well as its place in Nesvodba's entire oeuvre, somewhat justifies its inclusion in the SF genre.
