Istorija filozofije I-III

Istorija filozofije I-III

Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel
Hegel

A monumental overview of the development of philosophical thought from ancient Greece to German idealism. Hegel interprets the history of philosophy as a unified process of the development of reason, truth, and the human spirit.

Lectures on the History of Philosophy (Vols. I–III) by Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel is one of the most significant works in the history of philosophical historiography. Based on his university lectures and published posthumously, this three-volume edition presents a systematic account of the development of philosophical thought from its ancient origins to German Idealism.

For Hegel, the history of philosophy is not merely a succession of philosophers and their teachings, but a meaningful process in which the human spirit gradually develops toward an increasingly complete understanding of truth and freedom. Each philosophical system represents a specific stage of this development, building upon previous ones while simultaneously transcending their limitations.

The first volume covers the beginnings of Greek philosophy, the Pre-Socratics, the Sophists, Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. The second traces the further development of ancient thought, the Hellenistic schools, and medieval philosophy. The third is dedicated to modern philosophy, ranging from Descartes, Spinoza, and Leibniz to Kant, Fichte, and Schelling.

Hegel’s dialectical method connects philosophical ideas with their historical contexts and reveals the internal logic of their development.

Lectures on the History of Philosophy (Vols. I–III) is an indispensable work for the study of the Western philosophical tradition, as well as for understanding Hegel’s own philosophical system and his influence on modern thought.
