U registru je najpoznatiji roman Ante Kovačića. Roman je objavljivan u nastavcima tokom 1888. godine u časopisu Vijenac. Po oceni kritičara, najznačajniji hrvatski roman 19. veka, uz „Seljačku bunu“ Avgusta Šenoe.

This work, awarded the NIN Prize for that year, is considered one of the most significant in Serbian literature after World War II.
