The National Museum of Belgrade is a jewel of the cultural heritage of the Balkans, and this book allows you to take a peek into its rich collection.

The book contains:

Prehistory: The book includes more than 300 books older than 1800. Also, you can see books made from bamboo, paper from elephant dung, edible rice books and many other unusual examples.
Antiquity: This section explores ancient Greece and Roman civilizations. Books with carved wood covers, as well as books with teak leaves and hand-made paper from various Asian and African tribes are on display.
The Middle Ages: The book also covers the period of the Middle Ages, including the art of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires.
New century and modern era: Exhibits from the period of the new century, including art of the 20th century, are presented here.
