Sukob bića i ideala (o Alberu Kamiju)

Sukob bića i ideala (o Alberu Kamiju)

Nikola Kovač

"Clash of beings and ideals" is not just a study of Kami - it is the Croatian answer to the absurdity of the 20th century. Kovac reminds us that rebellion does not happen at the barricades, but in reading, writing and refusing to lie.

Kovač writes clearly, essayistically, without academic jargon, but with deep insights. The book was a bridge between Western philosophy and Croatian literary thought – cited in student papers, but also appreciated by writers such as Slobodan Šnajder or Ivan Lovrenović. Published at the time of the Croatian Spring and its suppression, the book is subtly politically engaged – without direct attacks, but with clear messages about freedom of thought.
