Ken Parker #8: Dan kad je gorjela Chattanooga / Kraljica Missourija / Montana
Three Ken Parker adventures: a bank robbery shakes Chattanooga, a Missouri riverboat voyage turns dangerous, and theft and intimidation threaten a widow’s Montana ranch.
This eighth three-story volume follows Ken Parker through Western communities disrupted by crime and greed. Each adventure places him among people whose difficulties become too dangerous to ignore.
In Dan kad je gorjela Chattanooga, Ken arrives with the scout Victorio and three soldiers to buy horses. An attempted bank robbery turns an ordinary day into a crisis affecting residents from different walks of life. The town itself becomes the collective protagonist, with Ken one participant in a wider human drama.
Kraljica Missourija takes him aboard a riverboat bound for Fort Benton. He becomes involved in a dispute between former gold prospector Colin and his financial backer, while Colin and his daughter Angela seek protection during the journey. In Montana, the people of the Twin-T ranch mistake Ken for a horse thief. Its owner, widow Brenda Taylor, faces pressure from a local power broker holding her mortgage.
Robbery, a hazardous journey and the struggle to keep a home unite these stories of a frontier where money and violence shape everyday life. Different artists give each episode its own visual character, while Ken’s willingness to listen and oppose injustice provides continuity.
