Zagor – Kolor #19: Zvijer iz Amamura
In Darkwood, Ramath encounters Captain Kross, responsible for the massacre that killed his brother. With Zagor’s help, he confronts the man known as the Beast of Amamur.
Captain Kross, a former officer in Britain’s colonial forces in India, earned the name Beast of Amamur after massacring the inhabitants of a village. Among the victims was Ramath’s brother Sahid. Years later, the fakir encounters the man responsible in Darkwood and resolves to confront him with Zagor’s help.
Zvijer iz Amamura places Ramath’s past at the heart of the adventure. Their encounter far from India suggests how the consequences of violence survive both distance and time. For Ramath, Kross is more than another criminal: his return reopens a personal wound and gives the conflict a weight Zagor must understand as a friend and ally.
Alessandro Russo combines western adventure with colonial violence and accountability for past crimes. The beast of the title represents human cruelty, giving the action a dramatic focus on revenge and the search for justice.
Walter Venturi’s artwork and Mad Cow’s colours accompany a story that brings one of Zagor’s longstanding friends into the foreground. It will appeal to readers interested in the personal histories behind Darkwood’s familiar characters.
