Ruta Sepetys
The author of a series of novels, successively successful, and winner of the Carnegie Medal literary award, Ruta Sepetys was born and raised in Michigan, USA, in a family of artists, readers and music lovers. As the daughter of a refugee, Ruta is particularly drawn to unknown or insufficiently known stories about the strength gained in life's hard battles. By shedding light on them, he hopes to use his works to become the voice of those who did not have the opportunity to witness their own suffering. Her award-winning historical novels have been published in more than fifty countries around the world and have won more than forty literary awards. Several of her novels - Darkness of the Heart, Room full of Dreams and Salt in the Sea - have been translated into Croatian by the publishing house Znanje.
