Michael Ende is a famous German writer of fantasy books for young people, born in Bavaria in 1929. It was "The Neverending Story" that brought him world fame, and other famous works are "Momo" and "Jim Gumb i train driver Lukas". Ende's works have been translated into more than 40 languages, sold more than 35 million copies and have been adapted as films, plays and operas. Ende is one of the most popular and well-known German authors of the 20th century. He died in 1995 in Germany.
