Kader Abdolah
Kader Abdolah, born Hossein Sadjadi Ghaemmaghami Farahani, is a Persian-Dutch writer.
Kader Abdolah was born into a prominent Muslim family from Arak. He is a descendant of Mirza Abdolghasem Ghaemmagham Farahani, who is the founder of modern Iranian literature and a former prime minister of Persia. As a physics student at the University of Tehran, he joined a left-wing party that operated in secret. With this act, he rebelled against the Shah, and then against the Ayatollah. He has been living in the Netherlands since 1988, after he left Iran.
He publishes texts and books under a pseudonym that indicates the names of his fallen friends (Kader and Abdolah). He wrote books and many texts in the Dutch language. He is known for using Persian literary themes in his works. He also regularly appears on Dutch TV channels.
