Frano Ivanišević
Frano Ivanišević was a Croatian public figure and ethnographer, born in 1863 in Jesenice in Poljica. As a parish priest in Vranjic, Solin and Jesenice, and a people's representative in the Imperial Council in Vienna (1907–1911), he actively advocated for the introduction of the Glagolitic script into the liturgy and the preservation of Croatian cultural heritage. His work covered economic, social, educational and political issues, and of particular note is the monograph Poljica: narodni život i običaji, which is a valuable ethnographic source on the life and traditional culture of the Poljica region from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century.
