Cvet Henrija Milera

Henry Miller

The book Flower by Henry Miller is based on a selection from the best and most attractive works of this writer, following the chronological sequence in Miller's writing, giving Miller's most artistically mature pages.

Miller's prose, largely autobiographical, has at its core an understanding of life as an individual's heroic struggle against all restraining norms, prejudices and circumstances that attack man's individuality from without and within. The specific joy of freedom from all kinds of obstacles, taboos, narrow-mindedness of the "American way of life" that threatens to become a "contagion" of the entire civilization, was most convincingly expressed in Miller's work in the sphere of unrestrained erotic experiences; this author expressed his derogatory experiences from this sphere without hiding anything and without shying away from obscenity, which is why he was often attacked and contested, but also widely accepted as a representative of a new, liberated humanity and a new erotic reality.
