Marinus van der Lubbe je uoči paljenja Reichstaga otišao biciklom na putovanje ka Balkanu. Na tom je putovanju stigao do Osijeka i Vukovara, a o putovanju je vodio dnevnik. Autori su devedesetih odlučili napraviti reportažu o tom njegovom putovanju, krećući se istim putem i zaustavljajući se na istim mjestima. Bilo je to vrijeme rata u Hrvatskoj, kada je Osijek bio na prvoj crti bojišnice. Ta okolnost ovoj reportaži daje dodatnu simboličku dimenziju.

Izdanje s crno-bijelim ilustracijama mjesta na kojima je tokom svog putovanja boravio Marinus van der Lubbe.
