The role of Slavonia in Croatian literature and culture
The book is a detailed monograph about the small settlement of Suha Mlaka, in the municipality of Crnac in Virovitica-Podravina County, in the heart of Slavonia.
Zdenka Lechner, the first ethnologist at the Museum of Slavonia (1951–1965), made significant contributions to the study of the traditional culture of Slavonia, including the use of pokljuc – earthen lids for baking bread and pastries on the hearth.
The book is a collection of poems inspired by the Posavina region – the region between the Berava and Orljava rivers in Brod-Posavina County – where Toldi, through lyrical expression, evokes the local culture, nature, and everyday life of Slavonia.
