Bespuća povijesne zbiljnosti: Rasprava o povijesti i filozofiji zlosilja

Franjo Tuđman

Desperate of historical realities is the most famous work of the first Croatian president, also translated into foreign languages. The book was prepared by Tuđman since the early 1980s, and published in 1989.

If you look at Tuđman's writing oeuvre, then Desperate of historical realities emerges as a central book in terms of importance and influence. Tuđman's historical magnum opus remains Croatia in monarchist Yugoslavia; in addition to it, there is also a valuable discussion, The National Question in Contemporary Europe, while the polemicist and strategist Tuđman is best represented in Usudbeni viveštica and in the collection of interviews with foreign journalists, Croatia's Word to the World.
