The authors look at the processes that were started then through a personal prism in order to prove that today's world is freer, better and richer than the world at the turn of the eighties into the nineties. The authors do not deny that the world is still burdened with open questions, including existential ones: Can democracy survive? Will economic growth continue? Are the ideas of liberal democracy threatened in today's world?
