A 1963 novel by Leon Uris about Berlin and Germany after World War II. The novel begins in London during World War II and goes up to the occupation of Berlin by the Four Powers and the Soviet land blockade of the western districts of the city.

When Soviet forces blockade Berlin and the airlift begins, O'Sullivan is faced with profound moral dilemmas in an increasingly complicated world.
