Bob Shaw

Bob Shaw is a writer whose works are characterized by consistent quality and a wealth of original ideas. "Ship of Strangers" (1978) is somewhat reminiscent of Asimov's story collection "I Robot" in its structure.

Each episode of the novel is, in fact, a separate story. The scene is always the same - an interstellar ship, on a mission to map the planet. "Sarafanda", the mother ship of the mission, explores mostly unexplored planets. By this intentional limitation of the narrative field, the author wanted to explore the possibilities of the crew members and the ship's computer system, setting firm parameters and allowing variations only in circumstances.

Ray Breadberry

In this book, Bradbury brings science fiction closer to the domains of the so-called same fiction (in the sense in which Lovecraft did it) and poetry in the imaginative playfulness of the language and the controlled emotionality of the statement.
