Život i djelo: Rubens

Život i djelo: Rubens

Janice Anderson

Pieter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) is considered the greatest representative of the Northern Baroque, an extension of the Italian Baroque art of the 17th century, which influenced a significant part of the art of Catholic Europe until the late 18th century.

Rubens was a student of Flemish artists, the court painter of the Duke of Mantua and many European rulers and kings. The vast production in his studio in Antwerp included portraits, landscapes, hunting scenes and mythological, historical and religious compositions.
