Hatiie Hoffman is a high school senior. All her life she plays different roles: an excellent student, a devoted daughter, a devoted neighbor and a loyal member of the local community. When she is found brutally stabbed after the premiere of the drama group in which she played Lady Macbeth, tragedy rips through the fabric of this small provincial community. Local sheriff Del Goodman, a family friend of the Hoffmans, does everything he can to find the killer, but his investigation brings more questions than answers. It seems that Hattie's acting talent went far beyond the stage.
